Testimonials

Christopher Bray, New Haven, VT State Representative

Amy and I worked together for more than 4 years while I’ve been a State Representative and she was the Executive Director of Rural Vermont.

I saw her at work primarily in two settings: presenting information to legislators in the State House; and working with Rural Vermont members to organize and present their thoughts and positions.

In both environments, Amy was smart, detailed-oriented, and a skilled facilitator with a talent for bringing out the best in the people working together.

Her skills in these environments reflect accurately what she offers to clients who want to discover and develop mission statements, action plans, and strategic campaigns.

I highly recommend Amy, and I would gladly speak with potential clients who might have questions.

Barbara Dozetos, Middlebury, Owner, Above the Fold

Amy has an incredible talent for creating a solid organization with minimal resources. She takes a systematic view and plugs in people where they can be the most use, harnessing their passion, as well as their talent.

I am continually impressed with Amy’s ability to communicate effectively with anyone. Without being patronizing or judgmental, she hears them and makes sure they hear her. She knows what to say to whom and when.

Todd Bailey, Executive Director, VT League of Conservation Voters

When Rural Vermont needed letters to the editor, targeted calls to legislators, or people to show up in the state house, their volunteers were always there to help. Amy has proven she knows how to develop effective strategies that win.

Tim Palmer, Williston, VT

I’ve worked with Amy in the community and at the State House and am always struck by her insight, capacity to help people with diverse viewpoints find common ground, and ability to advance crucial and sometimes difficult issues strategically and responsibly.  She is a tremendous resource for Vermont and Vermonters.

Mary Sullivan, Burlington

Amy’s organizational skills and passion for doing a fantastic and thorough job were so evident when she was campaign manager for Racine for Governor. It was great to hear so many people around the state hold Amy in such high esteem. People from all her past jobs had only the highest praise for her. She’s the best!

Brendan Bush, President, Original Gravity Media

As a political campaign consultant, I’ve worked with all types of campaign staff and managers. None have been more professional, organized and easier to work with than Amy Shollenberger. She knows when to assert herself, when to delegate responsibilities and when to ask for advice. I’m looking forward to working with Amy again and would recommend her as an organizer and campaign planner to anyone who asks.

Leo Graham, Chester, VT

Amy Shollenberger has a rare talent: she can get people to do things. From the President of the United States to the manager of the local convenience store, getting people to do things is roughly task one.

Still, I will grant there are many ways to get people to do things … some more effective than others. None, in my judgment is more effective than getting individuals to believe that by identifying common goals and defining a common cause, each of them will succeed; as will the entity. This is exactly Ms. Shollenberger’s area of expertise. I’ve watched her do it with groups of great disparity – age the least of it – and always with the same result: people pull together and roll toward the goal.

Ms. Shollenberger can sometimes come off as a bit “aw shucks.” Don’t believe it. Her mind is as keen as any blade ever forged; her wit is as dry as any martini ever poured; and her heart is eternally on her sleeve – if she doesn’t believe, she won’t apply.

People recognize sincerity when they encounter it (not often enough) and they respond. When anyone can combine passion, heart, commitment, and conscience that is a person possesses a rare value, and an all but extinct gift. She possesses that grace and more.
